90-Ball Bingo

90-ball Bingo is mostly played in the UK and Ireland, though it is also played in the rest of Europe and in Australia. 90-ball Bingo is sometimes referred to as Housie. It is played on rectangular bingo cards (which are called tickets in this bingo variation) divided into three rows and nine columns. Not all 27 squares are used, however. 12 squares are blotted out, leaving 15 squares with numbers in them to be played. These blotted and numbered squares are equally divided per row: 4 per row are blotted, 5 per row are numbered.

90 Balls

You guessed it! 90-ball bingo is played with 90 balls. The 15 numbers on the card can be any number from 1 up to and including 90. You will find numbers 1-9 in the first column, 10-19 in the second, etc., until you get to 80-90 in the ninth colum. This is to make it easier for players to locate the numbers called on the ticket, of course, in online bingo, you never have to bother searching your card if you choose to play with auto-daub.

Patterns

In 90-ball bingo the patterns are always lines. There is a prize that goes to the first player to get 1 line full, a prize for the first player to get 2 lines full, and a prize (often slightly larger) for the first player to fill up the entire ticket (this is called a Full House). If you win the one or two line prize, you are still in the running for the next win, and the game is only over when a player gets a Full House.

Prizes

In online 90-ball bingo the prizes offered will vary per room, depending on the cost of the tickets as well as the number of players in the room who buy tickets for that round. 90-ball bingo also comes in a shared jackpot variation in which the prize money if divided between the winner(s) and the runners up.
